As a Baltimore newborn photographer, I have the privilege of capturing some of the sweetest moments for families welcoming new additions. This twin newborn session was extra special because I’ve known Jen since high school! We were friends back in the day, and I even photographed her and her husband’s engagement photos years ago. While I no longer offer engagement or wedding photography (aside from the occasional session for close friends), it was such an honor to capture this new chapter in their lives.
When Jen reached out to share the exciting news that they were expecting twins, I couldn’t wait to get them in the studio. She selected a gorgeous pink dress from my client closet, which was perfect for the soft and timeless aesthetic of their newborn session. Her husband kept things classic with a neutral top from his own wardrobe, making for beautifully coordinated family portraits.
Newborn Photography for Older Newborns
Their sweet twin newborns were actually two months old at the time of their session, which is a little later than the typical newborn window I recommend (5-14 days old). However, they were absolute angels—sleeping almost the entire time! We were able to capture some incredibly intimate and heartwarming moments between the twins, as well as precious snuggles with mom and dad.
For parents who may have missed the early newborn window, don’t worry! While younger newborns tend to be sleepier and curl up more easily into those classic poses, I can still create beautiful, timeless images of your baby even at 6-8 weeks old. My approach focuses on natural connection, soft posing, and capturing the unique personality of each little one.
